As of 2003, Chianti Riserva must be aged for at least 2 years and 3 months and must be at least 12.5% alcohol. Prior to 2003, the previous aging mandatory was 3 years.
The Da Vinci Chianti Riserva is 100% Sangiovese. It is ruby red in color with distinct cherry aromas balanced by slight smoky oak.
